Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's basketball non-conference schedule is almost complete and a huge part of it was announced today as the Pride will head to the Northern Classic in Canada for three games.
The trio of games will be played at Place Bell, located north of Montreal on November 25-27.
On November 25, the Pride will face Middle Tennessee State. The following day Hofstra will take on UNC Greensboro. And in the conclusion of their play up north on November 27, Hofstra and Quinnipiac will do battle.
"This tournament will be a great experience for our program," commented Hofstra Head Men's Basketball Coach
Speedy Claxton. "Not only will it allow us to grow as a group on and off the court, but we will be facing three quality opponents on consecutive days."
The trip will be a historic one as it marks the program's first regular season trip to the country of Canada and the team's first inseason trip outside the United States since taking part in the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands during the 2015-16 season. The Pride did go on a foreign tour to Montreal during the offseason in late August/early September of 2017.
Hofstra has never faced Middle Tennessee State or UNC Greensboro. This will mark only the second-ever meeting with Quinnipiac with the teams last meeting early in the 2002-03 campaign.
Hofstra has previously announced non-conference games at Princeton (November 7), versus Iona (November 11), versus George Washington (November 14), at Saint Mary's (November 19), at George Mason (November 30), at Purdue (December 7), versus Massachusetts (December 11 at the Barclays Center), and at South Florida (December 19). The entire Colonial Athletic Association slate was released on August 16.
There are still two additional games to be added to the 2022-23 schedule.
