Capazario Places Fourth At The Doc Gimmler

Farmingdale, NY - Dino Capazario finished fourth overall and the Pride placed 14th as a team as play concluded at The Doc Gimmler Sunday afternoon at the Bethpage State Park Red Course. Capazario shot all three rounds under par and finished with a three-round total of 200 (-10), which is a school record for 54-hole scoring. 

Hofstra shot +18 (858) for the tournament to place 14th out of 15 teams. 

Capazario shot a final round 67 (-3) following his first two rounds 65 (-5) and 68 (-2) to finish five strokes off the lead. Jaxon Hummel was the Pride's next best finisher, tying for 65th in the 86-player field. Hummel finished at 218 (+8) following rounds of 77-71-70. Vincent Apotolico tied for 67th at 219 (+9) with scores of 70-75-74, while Joseph Giamanco tied for 75th at 222 (+12) after rounds of 74-73-75. Mayaank Gally was 86th at 237 (+27) with rounds of 76-80-81. 

Connecticut's Jared Nelson won the individual title at 195 (-15), while Harvard was the team champion at 807 (-33), one stroke ahead of runner-up St. John's. 


Hofstra returns to action September 26-27 at the Villanova Invitational.
