South Orange, NJ - Hofstra freshman 
Clara Bal posted 13 kills, six digs, and four blocks to lead the Pride volleyball team to a dominating four-set road win over Seton Hall on Tuesday evening at Walsh Gymnasium. 
The win evened Hofstra's record at 2-2 this season, while the Pirates suffered their first loss of the year and fell to 2-1. The Pride won by set scores of 25-21, 25-15, 21-25, and 25-22. 
Junior 
Yagmur Cinel was also in double figures with 10 kills and added five digs for Hofstra, which got 37 assists, seven digs, three blocks, two service aces, and two kills from sophomore 
Beatriz Alves. 
After a narrow win in the opening stanza, it was all Hofstra in the second set as the Pride used a huge 10-1 run to turn an 11-11 tie into a commanding 21-12 lead. Hofstra would close the set and take a 2-0 lead in the match as Bal slammed down one of her kills on set point. 
After Seton Hall won set three, Hofstra used a late 5-0 run to earn a 22-17 lead in the fourth stanza. Bal and Cinel each had kills during the pivotal run. Seton Hall only got within two late before Hofstra put the finishing touches on the solid road victory. 
Senior 
Sarah Pierre finished with seven kills and seven blocks for Hofstra, while senior 
Zyare Abdul-Rahim added eight kills, three digs, and a pair of blocks. 
Jenna Walsh led Seton Hall with 13 kills, while Madison Klungel added 26 assists, seven digs, and four kills. 
Hofstra returns to the court this weekend when it travels to the Denver Invitational. The Pride will face Butler and Portland on Friday and the host Pioneers on Saturday. 
NOTES
- Hofstra is now 12-7 all-time against Seton Hall. 
- Bal has reached double figures in kills in three matches this season. 
- Hofstra has won its first true road match of the season in two of the last three years with both wins coming against Seton Hall.
