Hempstead, NY – Hofstra men's track runner Zach Van Houten will run in one more race during 2022 the outdoor track season, as the freshman will compete in the 5000m this Thursday, June 23, at the 2022 USATF U20 Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

The 5K race will take place at 8:27 p.m. local time/11:27 p.m. Eastern Time from historic Hayward Stadium. All events will be streamed live and on demand on USATF.TV, and live timing and results will be available for all running and field events. A freshman from East Meadow, New York, Van Houten primarily ran in the 10,000m during the outdoor track season. He finished second in the event at the 2022 CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 6, while he placed eighth at the Sam Howell Invitational on April 2, and 34th at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 14.

The CAA Male Cross Country Rookie of the Year, Van Houten ran in the 5000m twice during the indoor season; he placed fourth in the event at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational on February 12, before setting a personal-best time in the event at the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships on March 5.
