Hempstead, NY - The offseason transformation of the Hofstra men's basketball team continued as Head Coach
Speedy Claxton announced today the signing of Nelson Boachie-Yiadom, a transfer from Davidson College in North Carolina.
Boachie-Yiadom, a 6-8 forward from London, England, will have one season of eligibility remaining with the Pride.
"Nelson is a winner in every sense of the word," mentioned Claxton. "He leads by example and his leadership skills will be a huge asset to our team next season. Nelson comes from a winning program and knows what it takes to be successful. I can't wait to see the influence he has on our roster, on and off the court, in 2022-23."
Boachie-Yiadom played 95 games for the Wildcats from 2018-22, scoring a total of 184 points, while adding 208 rebounds, 98 assists, 45 blocked shots, and 39 steals. For his career he has shot 57% from the field. Boachie-Yiadom had a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists at St. Bonaventure back on February 14, 2020.
Boachie-Yiadom attended The Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Connecticut, prior to Davidson where he averaged 14 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, and two assists per game as a senior. He was a two-time NEPSAC honorable mention honoree and has played internationally with Great Britain's U18 National Team and with NBA's Basketball Without Borders program in Finland.
