This will be the fourth all-time meeting between the New York schools and the first since December 22, 2006. The Orange lead the series, 3-0. The first-ever meeting between the teams was December 4, 2001. Two of the previous meetings saw Hofstra face a ranked Syracuse squad with the Orange ranked #9 for the 2004-05 meeting and #23 when the teams met in 2006-07.
Saturday will be Hofstra's 43rd all-time game against the current members of the ACC. The Pride will be looking for its seventh all-time victory against the ACC following Sunday's win over the Panthers.
