SB: Hofstra Hosts LIU In Final Game at Bill Edwards Stadium in 2022

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra softball team will play its final game at Bill Edwards Stadium tomorrow, a non-conference single-game on Tuesday, May 3 against the LIU Sharks. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
 
Hofstra is 18-25 on the season and 11-6 in the Colonial Athletic Association while LIU is 23-26 overall and 12-9 in the Northeast Conference.
 
The game will be streamed live on FloSoftball. Live stats will also be available.
 
Hofstra is entering the game coming off of its fifth Colonial Athletic Association series win as the Pride took two of three games from Drexel. Meghan Giordano was named the CAA Player of the Week for her efforts over Hofstra's 2-2 week as she hit .500 (5-for-10) with seven RBIs and four runs scored. Chelsea Manto showed speed over the week and batted 8-for-16 over the week including a 4-for-4 outing at the plate in the nightcap on Saturday.
 
For the Sharks, Camryn Lyman leads the team with a .399 batting average and 63 hits. Ryleigh Bermea and Kiana Cisneros have driven in a team-high 30 runs, while Mmaya Avila is second on the team with 26 RBI. Alyssa O'Donnell leads LIU in the circle with a 3.92 ERA and 59 strikeouts.
 
Hofstra is 19-8 all-time against LIU, and the teams last faced in 2019 when the Pride fell to the then-LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds, 6-3.
