Hempstead, NY - A strong offseason continued for the Hofstra men's basketball program as today Pride Head Coach
Speedy Claxton announced the addition of German Plotnikov, a transfer from North Platte Community College in North Platte, Nebraska.
Plotnikov, a 6-6 guard from Minsk, Belarus, will have three years of eligibility remaining.
"We are really looking forward to having German as part of our program," stated Claxton. "He is a skilled offensive player who has the ability to score in bunches. His skill-set will really complement our roster as we develop our team for 2022-23 and beyond."
It was an outstanding season for Plotnikov as he averaged 20.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game for the Knights. He shot 48.3% from the field overall and 40.2% from three-point range and was nearly 90% (89.3%) from the charity stripe.
Plotnikov scored in double figures 23 times and tallied a season-high 47 points against Otero College on February 18 when he shot 15-24 from the field (3-3 from three-point range) and 14-16 from the free throw line.
Plotnikov earned Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team honors twice for North Platte, while also earning All-Region IX accolades.
Plotnikov attended Spring Creek Academy in Plano, Texas, prior to North Platte. He averaged 20 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per outing for the Spartans in 2019-20. Plotnikov was named First Team All-State Texas Christian Athletic League DIvision in helping Spring Creek to a 25-8 record.
Plotnikov has international experience as well, playing for the Belarus U18 National Team.
