Brian Morrell went 4-5 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs, while
Zack Bailey also went 4-5 with two doubles and three RBIs as Hofstra picked up an 18-7 win over William & Mary in a Colonial Athletic Association game at Plumeri Park Friday night. The 18 runs were a season-high for the Pride.
Hofstra moved to 19-17 on the season with the win and improved to 10-6 in CAA action. William & Mary is 18-20 overall and 7-9 in league play.
The Pride scored a run in the second on
Ryan Morash's RBI single that plated Bailey, who had doubled, with the game's first run. Hofstra added five more runs in the third with Morrell blasting a three-run home run and
Kevin Bruggeman adding a two-run shot later in the inning.
The Tribe struck back for four runs in the bottom of the inning with Ben Williamson providing the big blow, a three-run home run that made it a 6-4 game.
Hofstra would pull away with a four-run fifth with Bailey delivering a bases-loaded double that drove in three, while Morash knocked in Bailey with a sacrifice fly. Leading 11-7 after six, the Pride put the game out of reach with a seven-run seventh with Bruggeman driving in a pair of runs with a double.

Mark Faello (6-2) picked up the win, allowing six runs on six hits in five-plus innings.
Steven Kaenzig followed with three innings of relief, allowing one run on three hits before
Danny Kelleher pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
Rojo Prarie (3-3) took the loss for William & Mary, allowing six runs on seven hits in two innings.
The teams continue the series Saturday at 2 p.m.
Notes:
-Hofstra's 18 runs eclipsed their previous high of 15 at Elon on March 27.
-Bruggeman drove in four runs with a 3-6 day that featured a pair of doubles and a home run.

Anthony D'Onofrio extended his on-base streak to 24 games and his hitting streak to eight.

Jake Liberatore now has a 15-game on-base streak.
-Morrell has three home runs over his last two games.
-Faello struck out five batters and became the 24th Pride pitcher to reach 100 career strikeouts. Faello now has 103 career strikeouts.
