BB: Hofstra Extends Win Streak To Four With 12-5 Victory Over Towson

Towson, MD - Jake Liberatore had four hits, while Kevin Bruggeman, Santino Rosso, and Ryan Morash each had three hits to pace a 17-hit attack as Hofstra defeated Towson, 12-5, at Schuerholz Park Saturday afternoon. The win was Hofstra's season-best fourth straight and gave the Pride a series victory ahead of Sunday's finale.

The Pride moved to 18-15 overall and 9-5 in Colonial Athletic Association play. The Tigers dropped to 9-29 overall and 0-11 in league play.

The Pride busted open a 2-1 game with a seven-run third inning. Will Kennedy and Steve Harrington had solo home runs in the innings, while Michael Florides contributed a three-run double that capped the scoring.

Towson put up four runs in the third inning to make it a 9-5 game, but the Tigers offense stalled after that as relievers Tristan Nemjo, Garrett Sullivan, and Steven Kaenzig limited Towson to two hits over the final six innings.

Hofstra tacked on three runs in the top of the ninth inning on Rosso's home run.

Nemjo (1-5) picked up the win in relief of starter John Mikolaicyk, allowing one run on two hits over four innings. Kaenzig notched his first save, allowing one hit over the final 2 2/3 innings.

Rosso finished the game with four RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Liberatore, who was 4-5 with a double, added three runs. Bruggeman also had three runs on the day.
