Glen Head, NY - Dino Capazario shot a final round 73 (+2) and finished tied for ninth at the LIU Shark Invitational at Brookville Country Club Tuesday afternoon. Hofstra finished eighth as a team at the event.

Capazario had rounds of 72-73-73 to finish at 218 (+5). He was tied with Jack Simon of St. John's in the 56-player field. Jaxon Hummel tied for 38th at 232 (+19) following a final round 78 (+7). Joseph Giamanco was one stroke behind Hummel in a tie for 40th place at 233 (+20). Mack Giles, who was competing as an individual, tied for 46th-place at 235 (+22) following a final round 79 (+8). Vincent Apostolico had his best round of the tournament in Tuesday's finale with a 75 (+4) for a three-round score of 236 (+23). Mayaank Gally was 52nd with a 239 (+26) following a final round 81 (+10). Sean Haselton, another individual entrant, placed 56th with a 248 (+35). Haselton shot an 83 (+12) Tuesday. 
 
Hofstra shot a final round team score of 306 (+22) to finish with a three-round 914 (+62). Host LIU won the team title by one stroke over Southern Illinois, 858-859. 

Southern Illinois' Birgir Magnusson shot three consecutive scores of 70 (-1) to win the event 

Hofstra is back in action Saturday at the Yale Invitational.
