Hempstead, NY – In a release by the NCAA, Hofstra wrestling redshirt senior Zachary Knighton-Ward was named as one of the 44 at-large selections for the 2022 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, which take place inside Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan on March 17-19.

A redshirt senior from Uniondale, New York, Knighton-Ward went 18-7 on the year and finished sixth in the 285-pound bracket at the 2022 EIWA Championships. He went 2-3 at the EIWA Championships with wins by pin over Brown's Lear Quinton and by major decision against Isaac Righter of American.

This will mark the third time in his Hofstra career that Knighton-Ward is headed to the NCAA Championships. He qualified as an at-large selection in 2020 and was an automatic qualifier in 2021, where he went 1-2 with a win by pin over North Dakota State's Brandon Metz.

Seeds and brackets for the NCAA Championships will be announced on Wednesday, March 9, at 6 p.m. on NCAA.com.
