Hempstead, NY - 10 members of the Hofstra wrestling team received their seeds for the upcoming EIWA Championships in an announcement by the conference office today.
The seeding release comes less than a week away from the conference championship, the 118th edition of the event. The EIWA Championships are set to run from Saturday (Mar. 5) through Sunday (Mar. 6) from Newman Arena at Bartels Hall on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
Charles Small and
Zachary Knighton-Ward received the highest seeds of the 10 Hofstra wrestlers, with the two checking in as the three-seed at 184 and 285, respectively.
Trey Rogers also received a high seed for the conference championship, as the junior was seeded sixth at 197.
Joe McGinty (157) and
Ricky Stamm (165) are the next-highest seeded Hofstra wrestlers at 11, while
Justin Hoyle (141) follows at 14.
Michael Leandrou (149) and
Ross McFarland (174) are both 15-seeds in their weights,
Jacob Moon (125) is seeded 16, and
Matthew Templeton (133) rounds out the group at 17.
Stamm, Small, Rogers and Knighton-Ward all qualified for the 2021 NCAA Championships through finishes at last season's EIWA Championships. Knighton-Ward and Small placed third in their respective weight classes, while Rogers and Stamm finished fifth.
