Nicholson also posted a strong game on the glass, pulling down seven rebounds. Jahsyni Knight dished out a season-high seven assists for the Pride while committing just one turnover.

The game of runs continued throughout the remainder of the first quarter with Elon holding a 16-14 edge at the horn. Hofstra rallied in the second quarter with six-straight points at the midway point to level the scoring at 22-22, though it was Elon once again closing the stanza with a surge to take a 33-27 lead into halftime.

Despite consecutive jumpers by Hines and Jaala Henry to cut the deficit to two points, Elon rallied off 10 points to take its largest lead of the game at 12 points with four minutes to play in the third quarter. The final four minutes saw limited scoring and Hofstra was unable to close the gap during the final period as Elon held on for the victory.

Kayla Liles led Elon with 17 points behind a 4-for-7 effort from beyond the arc. Brie Perpignan added 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Vanessa Taylor hauled in eight rebounds to lead the Phoenix.
