Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's basketball team will head to Elon for its final regular season road contest as the Pride and the Phoenix will battle on Tuesday evening. This game was originally scheduled for December 31 but was postponed due to COVID protocols within the Elon program at the time.
Tip-off from the Schar Center is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The game will air on FloHoops and WRHU (88.7 FM) will have an audio-only broadcast on the Hofstra Athletics Web Channel. Links to both broadcasts, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.
Hofstra has won four consecutive games to improve to 17-9 overall and 9-4 in Colonial Athletic Association play. Elon is 8-18 and 5-8 in conference action after splitting its most recent weekend with a win over James Madison and a loss to Towson.
The Pride are coming off an excellent week that saw them win all three games including victories over UNCW, Drexel, and Delaware to extend the win streak. The last two wins during the week both came on the road as the Pride defeated Drexel, 83-73, and Delaware, 80-66. In the Delaware win, five players scored in double figures led by junior
Aaron Estrada with 21 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
Hunter McIntosh and Zac Ervin each posted nine points in Elon's loss to Towson, with Hunter Woods tallying a team-best seven rebounds.
Hofstra is 10-4 all-time against Elon. The teams met once last season with the Phoenix capturing a win in the semifinals of the CAA Championship. Prior to that meeting, the Pride had won five consecutive meetings in the series. The first-ever meeting between the teams occurred during the 2009-10 campaign with Hofstra earning a 70-46 win in the NIT Season Tip-Off as the squads met prior to becoming conference rivals.
