McDonnell Sets New School Record at FastTrack Season Opener

Staten Island, NY – Hofstra women's indoor track distance runner Jordyn McDonnell set a new program record in the first race of the 2022-23 indoor track & field season at the FastTrack Season Opener from the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

A senior from Lake Ronkonkoma, New York, McDonnell crossed the finish line of the 5000m in a time of 17:31.55. She smashed the program record of 17:57.62 she originally set at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in 2020. McDonnell's time placed her fifth in the event.

Deandra Baker finished seventh in the 60m Dash with a time of 8.77, Rachel Lande placed 13th with a time of 9.21, and Cynthia Zhao finished 18th with a time of 10.19. Jackalynn Orellana finished 14th in the 5000m with a time of 18:56.0, and Kayla Stadeker placed 17th in the 800m with a time of 2:54.70.

Also competing for Hofstra at the FastTrack Season Opener was Leslie Villafuerte Castro (17th, 20:57.62) and Samantha Szabo (18th, 21:42.32) in the 5000m, April Ivan (24th, 7.96m) in the shot put, Lauren Dietrich (34th, 8.92) in the 60m Dash, and Claire Galante (56th, 34.59), Dominique Jimenez (58th, 35.93), and Sadie Anderson (59th, 38.02) in the 200m Dash.
