Jordyn McDonnell breezed to a first-place finish in the Mile at the Wagner College Invite from the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York.
McDonnell broke the tape first among the field of 20 runners with a time of 5:02.30. Her time, which was 3.44 seconds faster than runner-up McKenzie Delahanty of Monmouth, is currently the fastest time in the CAA for the Mile event and is the 26th-fastest time in the country.
A majority of Hofstra's entries were in the 60m dash.
Lauren Dietrich topped the group with a 39th-place finish in a time of 8.33. Also running for Hofstra in the 60m dash was
Rachel Lande (45th, 9.38), Cynthia Zhao (48th, 9.75), Mai Takahashi (50th, 9.87),
Julia Mansfield (52nd, 10.33), Maya Torpey (53rd, 10.41),
Samantha Szabo (55th, 10.62), and
Sophia Masciarelli (56th, 10.87).
Kayla Stadeker (68
th, 52.85) and Sadie Anderson (71
st, 1:02.45) also represented the Pride in the 300m.
Hofstra's next competition is in Boston, Massachusetts on January 27-28 at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic.
