Hempstead, NY - Hofstra redshirt freshman Amar'e Marshall continued to cement himself as the top freshman in the conference as he was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week for the third consecutive week to open the 2022-23 season. The award was announced this morning by the conference office. 

Marshall helped Hofstra to a 2-1 week at the Northern Classic in Laval, Quebec, Canada. 

On Friday against Middle Tennessee he led Hofstra in all three categories and posted new career-highs in all three as well with 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. He is only the fifth player in the last 15 seasons to lead Hofstra in those three categories in the same game. 

On Saturday he posted 10 points, two rebounds, and two assists in the victory over UNC Greensboro. 

He finished his week with two points and five rebounds in Sunday's win over Quinnipiac. 

For the week he averaged 9.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.
