Hempstead, NY - A trio of Hofstra volleyball players - sophomore Beatriz Alves, redshirt freshman Josie Fronczak, and redshirt senior Sarah Pierre - were named to the College Sports Communicators 2022 Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, it was announced today by the organization. 

Alves, the Colonial Athletic Association Setter of the Year and an All-CAA First Team honoree, played in all 29 matches this season and totaled 1,069 assists, 237 digs, 100 kills, 51 blocks, and 35 service aces. A fine arts major, Alves has a 3.62 grade point average. 

Fronczak played in 24 matches this season and had 34 digs and 11 service aces. A marketing major, Fronczak has a 3.61 GPA. 

Pierre played in all 29 matches for the Pride this season and had 134 kills, 118 blocks, and 18 digs. A community health major, Pierre has a 3.63 GPA. 

Hofstra compiled a 17-12 overall record this season and went 14-2 in CAA play. Along the way they had a 12-match win streak during the season and began the conference slate with 14 consecutive CAA wins. 

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on Wednesday, December 21.
