Capazario Tied For Second After Two Rounds At Nassau Invitational

Glen Cove, NY - Hofstra's Dino Capazario is tied for second and Hofstra is in sixth-place as a team following two rounds of the 2022 Nassau Invitational at Nassau Country Club Monday. Capazario is two strokes off the lead entering Tuesday's final round. 

The Pride junior shot rounds of 72 (+2) and 70 on Monday with his 142 (+2) tied with Army West Point's Dragon Theam. The pair is two shots behind day one leader Tyler Gerbavsits, who shot a 140 (E) with rounds of 72 (+2) and 68 (-2). 

Jaxon Hummel (72-78) is Hofstra's next-best scorer with a 150 (+10) to sit in a tie for 26th-place in the 57-player field. Joseph Giamanco (82-72) and Vincent Apostolico (76-78) are tied for 42nd at 154 (+14). Taishi Shigaki (80-75) is tied for 45th at 155.

Hofstra, which leads the 10-team field with 20 birdies, had rounds of 300 and 295 for a two-round score of 595 (+35). The Pride is 15 strokes behind leader St. John's. 

Final round play at the Nassau Invitational gets underway Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Notes:
-Capazario has seven birdies over his 36 holes, while Hummel has five.
