The Streak Continues; 11 In A Row For Hofstra

Hempstead, NY - Led by 16 kills apiece from senior Zyare Abdul-Rahim and junior Yagmur Cinel, the Hofstra volleyball won its 11th consecutive match with a four-set win over Delaware on Saturday afternoon at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center.

The win streak is the eighth-longest in program history, now tied with the 1990 team. It continues to be the second-best Colonial Athletic Association start in program history, only trailing the 2006 team that started 13-0 in league play.

Hofstra was spectacular through the first two sets, culminating with a .294 attack percentage in the second set to take a 2-0 lead in the match. Delaware battled back in the third set to close the gap before Hofstra put the finishing touches on the win with a narrow two-point win in the fourth set.
