Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University women's soccer team will close out the 2022 regular season Sunday at 1 p.m., hosting Stony Brook in a game with tremendous Colonial Athletic Association Championship implications. The game will also serve as Hofstra's Senior Day with the Pride honoring eight members of the senior class as well as two graduate students who returned for a fifth year in 2022.
Hofstra (8-6-3, 3-3-2) is currently seventh with eight teams making the CAA Championship. The Pride need a win to clinch the sixth seed but can still get a bid with a draw or a loss depending on the results of games involving UNCW-Charleston and William & Mary-Hampton. The Pride has played themselves back into contention with two consecutive victories and is unbeaten in three games.Â
Stony Brook enters play with a 6-7-4 overall record and a 3-2-3 mark in the CAA. The Seawolves are one spot ahead of the Pride in the standings and need a win to clinch a playoff berth as well. Stony Brook can also get in with a draw or loss based on the results of other games around the league.Â
The game will stream live on FloFC with audio commentary provided by WRHU-FM. There will also be an audio only broadcast and live statistics available. Links can be found above or on the women's soccer schedule page on GoHofstra.com.
