Giamanco and Capazario Pace Pride On Day One Of Lehigh Invitational

Bethlehem, PA - Joseph Giamanco and Dino Capazario each shot three-over 75 to lead Hofstra on day one of the Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley Country Club Friday. The pair are tied for 24th in the 78-player field. As a team, Hofstra is tied for 12th place out of 15 teams.

Giamanco and Capazario are in a tie with 10 other golfers, seven strokes off the lead. Taishi Shigaki was Hofstra's next best scorer, shooting an 82 (+10). The freshman is tied for 63rd-place. Jaxon Hummel is tied for 70th at 83 (+11), while Tyler Barbaro is 78th at 91 (+19).

Brendan Smith of St. John's shot a 68 (-4) to hold a two stroke lead over Michael McCrone and Rick Van Der Nat of Rider, and Sam Barton of Lehigh. The Red Storm also leads the team scoring at 285 (-3). Rider is second at 288 (E). The Pride recorded a team score of 315 (+27) to tie with Binghamton for 12th-place.

Final round action of the Lehigh Invitational gets underway Saturday at 10 a.m.
