Hofstra Welcomes UNCW And Charleston To Start Homestand

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University women's soccer team begins a regular season ending three-game homestand Thursday night when it welcomes the Seahawks of UNCW to Hofstra Soccer Stadium for a 7 p.m. matchup. The Pride will then host Charleston Sunday at 12 p.m. as the team makes a push for a berth in the upcoming Colonial Athletic Association Championship. 

Both games will be live streamed on FloFC with audio commentary provided by WRHU-FM (88.7). Live statistics and an audio only broadcast will also be available. Links can be found above or on the women's soccer schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra is 6-6-3 overall and 1-3-2 in the CAA entering this pivotal stretch of games. The Pride is tied for 10th-place in the CAA with the top eight squads advancing to the CAA Championship. Hofstra is coming off a 0-0 draw at Delaware this past Sunday. Ellen Halseth leads the Pride with six goals and two assists for 14 points. Thorhildur Thorhallsdottir has five goals and three assists for 13 points. Skylar Kuzmich has started all 15 games in goal and has a 1.10 goals against average. 

UNCW enters the meeting with a 7-5-2 record overall and a 3-2-1 mark in league play. The Seahawks are in fourth-place in the league standings. Madison Henry leads UNCW in scoring with seven goals and six assists for 20 points. Blair Barefoot and Hanna Wise have split the goalkeeping duties with Barefoot posting a 1.23 goals against average and Wise a 0.67 GAA. 

Charleston is 8-6-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the CAA heading into a Thursday night game at Stony Brook. The Cougars are one spot ahead of Hofstra in the CAA standings. 

Hofstra is 14-5-3 all-time versus UNCW and 8-1-0 all-time against Charleston. 

Following this weekend, Hofstra will have one regular season game remaining - October 23 at home against Stony Brook.
