Bloomfield, CT - Hofstra took a step back from a solid first round showing, shooting a final round 354 (+66) to finish seventh at the Hartford Hawks Invitational at Gillette Ridge Golf Club Sunday. The Pride had a 326 (+38) in Saturday's first round.
Mai Takahashi and
Savannah Weyrauch were the Pride's top finishers, tying for 28th in the 49-player field. Both golfers shot an 86 (+14) Sunday and finished at 167 (+23) for the tournament.
Emmah Federman carded an 89 (+17) Sunday and placed 35th with a 173 (+29).
Maya Torpey tied for 38th at 175 (+31) following a final round 93 (+21).
Claire Galante tied for 41st at 176 (+32) after shooting a 94 (+22) Sunday.
Hannah Morello, playing as an individual, placed 48th at 205 (+61).
Sacred Heart won the team title at 616 (+40), rallying from eight strokes down. Merrimack, which was the first round leader, was second at 622 (+46). Sacred Heart's Margot Rouquette was the individual medalist at 148 (+4), one stroke better than Merrimack's Ada Pan.
Hofstra returns to action October 6-7 against LIU in the Birdies Against Breast Cancer match at Eisenhower Park.
