WGOLF: Federman, Weyrauch Shoot Personal Bests, Tie For Second Place

East Meadow, NY – Emmah Federman and Savannah Weyrauch both shot career-best rounds and tied for second as the two-round competition between Hofstra and Wagner ended with the Seahawks prevailing, 635-656.

Weyrauch shot a 77 (+5) and Federman carded a 78 (+6) in their final rounds at the Eisenhower Park Red Course Friday. Weyrauch cut four strokes from her first round 81 (+9), while Federman improved by two strokes after a first round 80 (+8). The duo each finished with a 158 (+14) and were 13 strokes behind Wagner's Audrey Paradis. The Seahawk led wire-to-wire with rounds of 73 (+1) and 72 (E) for a score of 145 (+1).

Wagner's Ximena de la Garza was fourth at 159 (+15) following rounds of 79 (+7) and 80 (+8). Kyree Conaway was fifth, four strokes behind her teammate at 163 (+19). Conaway shot rounds of 81 (+9) and 82 (+10). Elise Fujita completed Wagner's entry with an eighth-place finish at 170 (+26) following scores of 91 (+19) and 79 (+7).

Hofstra's Claire Galante, who competed as an individual entrant, finished sixth in her collegiate debut with rounds of 79 (+7) and 83 (+11) for a 162 (+18). Mai Takahashi, who was also making her debut for the Pride, placed seventh with a 169 (+25). Takahashi had rounds of 86 (+14) and 83 (+11). Cameron Waltman placed ninth at 173 (+29) following rounds of 86 (+14) and 87 (+15), and Averee Dovsek was 10th at 177 (+33) with scores of 92 (+20) and 85 (+13).

Hofstra returns to action next Saturday (Sept. 25) at the Hartford Hawks Invitational at Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield, Connecticut.

Notes:
-Federman and Weyrauch's previous low score was an 80.
-Weyrauch posted four birdies over her two rounds.
-Takahashi had one of two eagles over the two rounds.
-Federman tied for the tournament lead with 21 pars over her 36 holes.
