Hempstead, NY – The No. 25 Hofstra women's soccer team (3-1-0) is set for another weekend of non-conference action, as the Pride will face two Ivy League opponents in Columbia and the University of Pennsylvania. Hofstra will take on Columbia on Thursday evening at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m. before returning to the Hofstra Soccer Stadium to face Penn on Sunday at noon.

Miri Taylor was named the Colonial Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week after tallying three goals for the Pride. Junior forward
Ellen Halseth had a breakthrough weekend, recording one goal and two assists for the Pride.

Skylar Kuzmich had a great weekend as well, recording five total saves including a season-high of four against Penn State.
Columbia (0-1-1) is entering Thursday evening's match coming off of a 1-0 decision against Stony Brook before drawing with St. John's, 3-3 to open up the season. Three different Lions have scored for Columbia thus far, including Ally Clark, Nata Ramirez and Madi Pilla. The Lions return 44-percent of its goal-scoring from 2019, including the team's leading scorer during that season in Shira Cohen.
Hofstra is 9-4-2 in the all-time series against Columbia. The teams last faced during the 2019 season when Hofstra won at home, 1-0.

Through its first two matches, Penn is 1-0-1 on the season with a 1-1 draw versus Temple and 2-1 victory over George Mason. Like Columbia, three different Quakers have found the back of the net thus far, including Lauren Teuschl, Ginger Fontenot, and Mia Shenk. Laurence Gladu has seen every minute in goal for the Quakers so far.
This will be the third all-time meeting between Hofstra and Penn, but the first on Long Island. The teams have split the first two meetings with Hofstra coming away with a 2-1 victory during the last meeting on September 20, 2019.
