Hempstead, NY - Following the most unique season in the history of the Hofstra volleyball program, the Pride will look to get back to a sense of normalcy this weekend when they begin the "real" 2021 season at the Maryland Invite at the University of Maryland. 

Hofstra played just seven matches last season, which was played this past spring. 

The Pride will face Central Connecticut State on Friday before facing Virginia and Maryland on Saturday in the season-opening tournament.

Hofstra returns 10 student-athletes from last season and welcomes six newcomers to this season's roster. Tops among the returnees is graduate student Ana Martinovic, who was named to the Preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association team last week. 

Hofstra is 6-1 all-time against Central Connecticut State, but the teams have not faced each other since 1997. The Pride is 7-2 versus Virginia with the last meeting in 2017 and 4-6 against Maryland with the most recent match in 2015.
