Hempstead, NY – A program-record seven student-athletes were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District® Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday afternoon. The CoSIDA Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Devyn Losco (C), and
Jaycee Ruberti (OF), were all named to the first team in District 1, which compromises Division I institutions in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. Hallam picks up the honor for the third time in her career, while each other student-athlete garners the award for the first time.
Hofstra's seven total honorees were the most of any school in the nation across all three divisions.
Burns, an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete in 2019, sports a 3.38 cumulative grade point average as a Sociology major. This season, Burns made 23 appearances inside the circle and tossed 109.1 innings and led Hofstra with a 3.46 ERA. She accumulated six wins and struck out 37 batters.
Giordano is a Physical Education and Health major, and own a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. She started and appeared in all 32 games at third base during her junior season and accumulated 24 hits including five doubles and a team-high four home runs to go along with 24 runs batted in. She concluded the season with 82 career RBI and will enter her senior season ranked 12th in RBI in program history.
Goeke concluded her Hofstra career this past spring and recorded a 3.74 grade point average as a Business Analytics graduate student while completing her undergraduate degree in Finance in 2020 with a 3.55 GPA. Goeke, a 2019 All-CAA First Team selection in 2019, appeared in 24 games and made 20 starts this past season, primarily as Hofstra's designated player. She recorded 11 hits and drove in 15 runs while adding three doubles and one home run.
Losco, a 2021 All-Northeast Region First Team and All-CAA Second Team pick had another outstanding season for the Pride. An Exercise Science major with a 3.77 cumulative GPA, Losco appeared in 31 games and made 30 starts as Hofstra's catcher and recorded a .364 batting average with 32 hits which was tied for third on the team in both categories. Her 22 runs were also the second-highest amount on the team, and she added five doubles, two triples, and two home runs for a .534 slugging percentage which was second on the squad.
Hallam earns CoSIDA Academic All-District® honors for the third-straight season after earning Academic All-America® distinction in 2020. A two-time NFCA All-Northeast Region Third Team honoree, Hallam posted a perfect 4.0 GPA while obtaining her graduate degree in Sports Science. In addition, Hallam graduated summa cum laude in 2020, accumulating a 3.91 GPA as an Exercise Science major. This past season, Hallam led Hofstra with a .387 batting average, which was the ninth-highest single-season batting average in Hofstra program history. In addition, she scattered 43 hits, tied for a team-high 26 runs, and tallied 11 RBI.
Hallam finished her Hofstra career as the program's all-time leading base stealer (83), and batted .355 for her illustrious career, good for fourth all-time at Hofstra and eighth all-time in the CAA. In addition, she concluded her career with 222 career hits which is seventh all-time in Hofstra history and 10th all-time in the CAA.
Ioppolo, a Health Science major who boasts a 3.66 cumulative GPA, appeared in all 32 games and made 31 starts as Hofstra's primary first baseman. She batted .323 on the year and finished with 30 hits including two doubles and two triples. She tallied 14 runs and scored 12 times while recording a .390 on base percentage.
Ruberti concluded her junior season with a 3.62 cumulative GPA as a Criminology major. A 2021 All-Northeast Region Second Team and All-CAA First Team honoree, Ruberti led Hofstra with a .380 batting average this season which was second on the team and eighth in the Colonial Athletic Association. She scattered 28 hits including eight doubles, two triples, and three home runs, leading Hofstra with a .590 slugging percentage.
All seven honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late July.
