Hempstead, NY - Recent Hofstra University graduate Jack Jett has signed a professional contract with the Gateway Grizzlies of the independent Frontier League. Jett joined the Grizzlies earlier this month and has already made three appearances, posting a 1-0 record, a 3.38 ERA, and nine strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings of work.

Jett pitched three seasons for the Pride after transferring from Old Dominion. He posted a 5-7 record with a 4.95 ERA in 27 career appearances, and ranks 16th all-time at Hofstra with 123 career strikeouts. This past season, Jett was 3-4 with a 4.68 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 57 2/3 innings.

The Gateway Grizzlies, located in Sauget, Illinois, have a strong track record of sending players on to Major League Baseball organizations with 47 signed since 2001.
