WGOLF: Hofstra Places Seventh At CAA Championship

Greensboro, NC - Hofstra shot its lowest team round of the tournament and Savannah Weyrauch and Averee Dovsek each posted their best scores of the Championship as play at the 2021 CAA Championship concluded at the Grandover Resort East Course Tuesday afternoon.

The Pride shot a team score of 337 (+49) and finished in seventh place with a three-round 1024 (+160). James Madison was the CAA team champion with an 897 (+33). The Dukes shot an even-par 288 Tuesday to overtake College of Charleston and win by five strokes. Charleston was second at 902 (+38) followed by Delaware in third at 916 (+52). Elon was fourth at 926 (+62), Towson was fifth at 939 (+75), and William & Mary was sixth at 951 (+87).

Weyrauch, who shot an 81 (+9) in her final round, was Hofstra's top finisher at the event. The freshman tied for 28th in the 34-player field at 248 (+32). Cameron Waltman was 31st at 250 (+34) after also shooting an 81 today. Emmah Federman was 33rd at 259 (+43) following a final round 91 (+19), while Dovsek placed 34th at 267 (+51). Dovsek shot an 84 (+12) Tuesday.

Kendall Turner of James Madison, who started the day in third place, shot a 71 (-1) to pass Charleston's Viktoria Hund and claim the individual title with a 220 (+4). Hund shot a 77 (+5) and finished second at 221 (+5).
