Averee Dovsek carded a 78 (+8) to hold the first round lead at the Hofstra Invitational, taking place at Mill Pond Golf Course. Hofstra is in second place in the three-team field with a team score of 343 (+63).
Dovsek parred 13 holes in her first round as she holds a two-stroke lead over Wagner's Georgia Naples in the 15-player field.
Cameron Waltman is tied for fifth after one round with an 85 (+15).
Savannah Weyrauch, playing in her first collegiate tournament, is in eighth place with an 89 (+19).
Emmah Federman is tied for ninth at 91 (+21).
Wagner holds the team lead at 328 (+48) while Niagara is third with a team score of 379 (+99).
The final round of the Hofstra Invitational tees off Sunday at 12 p.m.

- Dovsek matched her career low round with the 78.
-Waltman had a round-high two birdies on the day and sunk a 54-foot putt on the par 3 sixth hole.
-Weyrauch birdied the par-5, 458-yard third hole after reaching the green in two shots.
