New York, NY - Fresh off of competing at the 2020 CAA Cross Country Championships, the Hofstra women's track team ran at the Fordham Ivan Invitational at the Ichan Stadium in Manhattan to start the 2021 season of outdoor track & field.
After earning All-CAA honors in the cross country season, sophomore
Jordyn McDonnell set a new school record in the outdoor 1500m with a time of 4:41.12, placing her fourth in the event. Senior

th, 4:55.84), junior
Sophia Masciarelli (12
th, 4:56.57), and sophomore
Gianna Rinaldi (27
th, 5:27.08) all ran for the Pride in the event.

Leah Gath placed 10
th in the 5000m with a time of 19:15.69. In the 800m, senior
Alyssa Suits crossed the finish line with a time of 2:50.04 to finish 16
th. In the 4x100m relay, the team of junior
Alex Cianciolo, graduate student
Sarah El Bouzaidi, sophomore
Emily Way, and junior
Grace Giannatsis crossed the finish line in a time of 1:01.14 to finish third.
Hofstra will return to the track again at the Virginia Invitational on April 2-3 from Charlottesville, Virginia.
