Hempstead, NY – A big opportunity awaits the Hofstra women's basketball team (3-4) as the Pride is slated to host Ole Miss this Saturday, December 11 at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. It is the first time that Hofstra is hosting a Power 5 opponent since November 27, 2015 when Hofstra took on #7 Oregon State in Hempstead.

The contest will be streamed live on FloHoops. In addition, WRHU will provide live audio on WRHU.org and 88.7 FM and live statistics will also be available. Coverage links can be found at the top of this release and are on the Hofstra women's basketball schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

The first home game for Hofstra in 22 days, the Pride is coming off of a four-game road trip where it posted a 1-3 mark with the win occurring against Kennesaw State. During Hofstra's last two games, Jaylen Hines averaged a double-double (13.5 points, 11.0 rebounds), and led Hofstra with 17 points and 13 rebounds at Howard. During that same game, JaKayla Brown posted her first career double with 14 points and career-high 12 rebounds.

Brown is averaging an even 14.0 points per game, while Hines follows with 11.3. On the glass, Hines pulls down a team-high 6.9 boards per game while Jaala Henry, who is third on the team with 7.1 points per game, hauls down an average of 4.6 rebounds per game. Henry also paces Hofstra with 2.29 assists per game.

Ole Miss (8-1) is heading to the Empire State looking for its ninth-straight win as the Rebels are coming off of a 75-63 win at Cincinnati this past Sunday. Through Ole Miss' first nine games, preseason All-SEC honoree Shakira Austin paces the team with 13.1 points per game and 9.4 boards, while reigning SEC Freshman of the Year Madison Scott follow with 12.9 points per game.

Hofstra and Ole Miss have faced just one other time in program history with that contest taking place at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on December 21, 2012. Hofstra won that matchup, 72-63.
