MSOC: Hofstra Ends Regular Season With Scoreless Draw

Hempstead, NY - Wessel Speel made four saves as No. 14 Hofstra played UNCW to a scoreless draw Saturday afternoon at Hofstra Soccer Stadium in the regular season finale for both teams.

The tie put Hofstra's record at 14-1-2 overall and 5-1-2 in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Seahawks are 9-6-2 overall and 4-3-1 in the CAA. Hofstra had already clinched a spot in the CAA Championship and still has a chance to earn the regular season title pending results from Saturday night's CAA action.

The Pride outshot the Seahawks, 17-12, and held a 6-4 edge in shots on goal. The Pride, which had multiple chances throughout the game, appeared to have won late in the second overtime but had the goal waved off due to an offside call.
