Boston, MA - Six student-athletes represented the Hofstra women's cross country team at the 2021 NCAA Division I Northeast Regional Championship on a rainy, muddy Friday morning from Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts.

Junior Jordyn McDonnell led the way for the Pride in Boston, crossing the finish line of the 6K race with a time of 22:35 and record a 98th-place finish. Senior Sophia Masciarelli was the next Hofstra runner to break the tape, clocking in at 22:48 for a 108th-place finish. Masciarelli's time was her fastest 6K time this season. Freshman Jackalynn Orellana crossed the finish line in 247th with a time of 27:51, and she was followed by fellow Pride runners junior Gianna Rinaldi (248th, 28:30), junior Kayla Stadeker (249th, 30:12), and freshman Sydney Brady (250th, 31:13).

Hofstra finished the race with 918 points, placing them 31st in the championship field. Behind two top 10 finishers and five total runners placing inside the top 20, Harvard won its second consecutive regional championship with 71 points. The Crimson edged out second-place Syracuse with 81 points, and Providence finished third with 108 points. Syracuse senior Amanda Vestri took home the individual title with a time of 20:05, finishing 13 seconds ahead of Yale's Kayley Delay to win the regional championship.
