WGOLF: Federman, Takahashi Lead Hofstra On Day One Of Quinnipiac Classic

Wallingford, CT - Emmah Federman and Mai Takahashi each shot a two-round 168 (+24) and are tied for 46th at the Quinnipiac Classic at The Farms Country Club Monday afternoon. Hofstra is in 12th-place in the team standings.

Federman had rounds of 87 (+15) and 81 (+9) Monday, and posted the day's only eagle with a two on the par-4 11th hole during round two. Takahashi opened her day with an 83 (+11) and followed up with an 85 (+13). The Hofstra freshman had a team-best 18 pars on the day.

Savannah Weyrauch is tied for 49th at 170 (+26) following consecutive scores of 85 (+13), while Averee Dovsek is tied for 59th at 179 (+35). Dovsek had rounds of 87 (+15) and 92 (+20). Hofstra's fifth entrant, Maya Torpey, withdrew before the first round began.

Quinnipiac's Elyse Kim holds the individual lead in the 63-player field at 145 (+1) following scores of 71 (-1) and 74 (+2). Jessie Kweon of St. John's is second at 149 (+5) after shooting 77 (+5) and 72 (E). Kim and Kweon had the only rounds of par or better on the day.

Quinnipiac and St. John's are also first and second on the team leader board. The Bobcats shot a team score of 607 (+31), while the Red Storm have a 622 (+46). Hofstra is at 685 (+109) in the 12-team field.

The final round of the Quinnipiac Classic gets underway Tuesday at 9 a.m.
