HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Several members of the Hofstra men's track team will compete this weekend across a pair of events. A handful of runners will compete at the Fastrack Last Chance Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island and two runners will compete at the BU Last Chance Meet at the BU Track and Tennis Center.

Masai and Markovina will compete at the BU Last Chance Invitational. Masai has spent much of the indoor season racing in the 3000m run, but he will compete in the 5000 for a spot in the NCAA Division I Indoor National Championships. Masai last ran the 5k at the BU Last Chance meet a year ago when he ran a time of 13:53.65. In the 3K, Markovina is looking to beat his personal record time of 8:35.35 that he ran at the BU Last Chance meet last year as well.
 
Last weekend at the Army West Point Tune-Up, several Hofstra competitors posted top-10 finishes. Andrew Giovinazzo competed in the 400m last week and placed third, while Yarkosky finished fourth in the race. Rynkowski also finished in the top-10 in the 400, placing sixth. In the mile, Ibironke finished in fourth and Haber placed fifth.

Up next for the Hofstra Track team would be the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships which would take place on March 13-14 at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
