Hempstead, NY - Hofstra senior Abraham Longosiwa and freshman Isabella Spagnoli were named this week's Coastal Athletic Association Runners of the Week, the conference office announced this afternoon. This is the second CAA Runner of the Week award sweep for the Pride this season. 

Longosiwa set a new 8K program record for the Pride at the Metropolitan XC Championship in Newark, New Jersey, on Saturday with his winning time of 22:45. The 8K program record was previously held by Alex Masai with his 22:53.50 time at the CAA Cross Country Championship in March 2021. Longosiwa led the Pride men to a second-place team finish in the Metropolitan Championship.

Isabella Spagnoli led the Hofstra women's cross country team in 5K race at the Metropolitan XC Championship with her first-place finish and time of 17:15. She boasts the second-fastest 5K time in program history, behind Jordyn McDonnell, and helped lead the Pride to a third-place team finish in the event.
