Brookville, NY - Freshman Freddie Kipkosgei led Hofstra to a first-place team finish at the LIU Fall Festival to open the 2025 cross country season. 

Kipkosgei clocked a time of 23:38.71 in the men's 8K race to take first-place, while Abraham Longosiwa came in second at 24:15.81. Alex Walsh finished fifth with a time of 26:30.61. Freshman Callum Beach came in at 27:33.49 to take ninth-place and John Ortiz was 11th out of the 49 runner field at 27:53.00. 

As a team, the Pride took first-place with 28 points while hosts LIU came in second with 34 points. 

Hofstra returns to action on October 3 for Lehigh University's Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, PA.
