BB: Hofstra Comes Up Short In 2-0 Loss At La Salle

Philadelphia, PA - Rob Weissheier had two of the Pride's four hits and Ryan Rue allowed just two hits over six-plus innings but La Salle was able to scratch out a 2-0 win over Hofstra and complete a three-game sweep Sunday at Hank DeVincent Field.

Hofstra fell to 1-6 on the season with the loss while La Salle improved to 4-2.

The Explorers scored runs in the third and fourth innings to take a 2-0 lead. A leadoff walk, a single and a ground out put runners on second and third with one out in the third and Tatem Levins delivered a sacrifice fly to plate the first run of the game. In the fourth, Rue gave up a two-out solo home run to Ross Mulhall that made it 2-0.

The Pride had several chances for runs but could not push any across. Weissheier led off the second inning with a triple but was cut down at the plate one batter later on a fielder's choice grounder. The Pride left a pair of runners on base in the fifth and stranded a runner at third in the sixth.
