Hofstra saw itself trailing by a 12-point margin by the end of the first quarter, but a strong start to the second stanza brought Hofstra within six two times, as the Pride used an 8-2 run with baskets by Valcourt, Kalin and Hines to hang close. Following Hofstra's spurt, Drexel closed the half on a 16-4 run to carry a 41-23 advantage into the break.
Drexel started the third quarter with a three-pointer by Bailey Greenberg, but Hofstra continued to chip away, putting together a 6-0 run while holding Drexel scoreless for nearly four and a half minutes. After Drexel put together another small scoring spurt, Hofstra never folded as the Pride scored nine of the final 11 points of the third stanza. Hines went off for eight points in that 10-minute span, making four of her five field goal attempts while grabbing five of her six rebounds.
The Pride scored a game-best 16 points in the final stanza, posting another strong shooting mark of 67 percent (6-of-9). Hofstra got points from five different scorers in the final quarter including five by Hines and three from Hernandez Gil, but Drexel continued to make shots down the stretch to put the contest in the books.

Friday's game against the Tribe is set to tip-off at a special time of 11:30 a.m. and the game will serve as Education Day, when Hofstra will welcome over 2,500 local elementary students to the Mack Sports Complex.
