Jasmine King and
Maddie Brown picked up a doubles championship, while the team of
Odessa Stork and
Ronia Dolabany and singles player
Mandisa Walle were runners-up at their respective flights as the 2019 Hofstra Invitational came to a close Saturday at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Courts.
King and Brown won the A Flight Doubles title with a semifinal win over Elinor Storkaas and Bianca Compuesto of Long Island (6-4). The Pride duo then downed Long Island's Valentina Duncenco and Sofiya Kuzina in the finals, 6-4.
Stork and Dolabany advanced to the finals of the B Doubles draw with a semifinal win against Wagner's Diana Pinzariu and Melanie Post, 7-5. But Siena's Nanea Perkins and Juliana Goehner picked up the win in the finals, 6-3.
Walle reached the finals of the C Singles flight by defeating Lovisa Engstrand of Queens College via walkover. She then fell to Mana Koitabashi of Queens in the finals, 6-4, 6-4. Koitabashi had defeated the Pride's
Alabina Zaganjor in the other semifinal, 6-4, 6-4.
Two other Hofstra players,
Alejandra Ruffini and
Jasmine King, won the consolation brackets of their singles flights. Ruffini won the A Singles consolation bracket while King picked up the win at B Singles. A third Pride player,
Brooklyn Samuels, was a consolation finalist at the C Flight.
Hofstra returns to action on October 8Â when it hosts Monmouth at 3 p.m.
