Stony Brook, NY – The Hofstra Women's Track team attended their fourth meet of the season on Saturday (April 20) when the Pride competed in four events at the Stony Brook Wolfie Invitational on the University Track.
Hofstra freshman Alex Cianciolo led the Pride with a third-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 9.75 meters (30'5" feet). She also placed 20
th in the long jump with a leap of 4.10m (13'5.5" feet).
Three Pride student-athletes competed in the 800-meter run with sophomore
Alyssa Suits leading Hofstra with a 23
rd-place finish in 2:53.71. Freshman Grace Giannatsi was 24
th in 2:57.80 and classmate Caroline Czerwonka was 25
th in 3:00.32.
Twenty Hofstra student-athletes competed in the 100-meter run competitions in eight sections. Three freshman were on top of the Pride list as Krista Agnostelli placed 29
th in 14.52, Sabrina Bryan was 32
nd in 14.83 and Megan Fisher was 34
th in 15.25. Junior Danielle Carpentieri was 37
th in 15.90, newcomer Abby Briggs was 38
th in 15.91 and junior Michela Rucli was 39
th in 16:15. A trio of freshmen followed with Lily Stavisky was 40
th in 16.17, Maddie Appleton was 42
nd in 16.89 and
Megan Boese was 43
rd in 17.18.
Sophomore Laura Masciullo was 44
th in 17.24 while freshmen Samantha Diamond was 45
th in 17.30 and Alex Cianciolo was 46
th in 17.31. Sophomore Eliska Truneckova placed 47
th in 17.45, junior Luisa Sydlik was 48
th in 18.17 and freshman
Sophia Masciarelli was 49
th in 19.46 and Meghan Fawcett was 50
th in 19.63. Sara El Bouzadi, Krakovic Dubravaca Alia Mentzell and Bridgett Weston also competed in the race.
Hofstra will return to action on Sunday, April 28 when the Pride compete in the Yale Springtime Invitational in New Haven, Connecticut.
