Kissimmee, FL - Central Michigan defeated Hofstra, 24-7, Saturday afternoon at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. The Chippewas scored four times in the second inning to break a 1-1 tie and then added six more runs in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
Central Michigan improved to 7-2 on the season while Hofstra fell to 1-5.
Austin Gauthier had an RBI double in the first inning that drove in
Myles Mensah.
Tyler White had an RBI double and
Daniel Page added a two-run single in the fifth inning, while
Matt Siedem (sac fly) and
Vinnie Costello (RBI single) drove in runs in the seventh.
Brad Camarda (1-1) took the loss for the Pride, allowing five runs on five hits in two innings of work. Cameron Brown (3-0) picked up the win for Central Michigan.
Zavier Warren drove in four runs for the Chippewas as did Griffin Lockwood-Powell.
