2/19/2019 10:20:00 AM

Hempstead, NY - With just two home games remaining, the Hofstra Men's Basketball team will look to solidify its position atop the Colonial Athletic Association standings when it hosts Towson on Thursday. The game will serve as the Pride's Autism Awareness game.

Tip-off from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex is slated for 7 p.m. For ticket information visit HofstraTickets.com, call (516) HOF-TIXX or stop by the Hofstra Athletics Ticket office in the lobby of the Mack Sports Complex during normal business hours.

There will be Pride Productions live video and audio of the game as well as live statistics. Links to all three can be found on this page as well as the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra is now 22-5 overall and 12-2 in Colonial Athletic Association action. The Pride will take a spectacular 17-game home court win streak into the contest as the Pride has won all 14 home games this season and the last three in 2017-18.

The Pride has won three of its last four games, but fell in its most recent contest, 87-79, at UNCW on Saturday. Senior Justin Wright-Foreman led Hofstra with 30 points and added seven rebounds in the game, while junior Eli Pemberton posted 22 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Wright-Foreman (26.3) and Pemberton (15.7) are the Pride's leading scorers this season with senior Desure Buie third on the team with 10.7 points per game and first with 5.1 assists per outing. Graduate student Jacquil Taylor is tops on the team with 8.3 rebounds per game and chips in with 7.9 points per game.

Towson is 10-17 overall and 6-8 in conference play and defeated Drexel, 92-77, in its last game on Saturday. Tobias Howard led the Tigers with 26 points in that game, while Brian Fobbs added 25. Fobbs ranks first on the Tigers with 17.5 points per game with Howard second with 10.7 points per outing. Dennis Tunstall leads the team with 7.8 rebounds per contest and Howard is first with 2.7 assists per game.

Hofstra is 42-26 all-time against Towson in a series that began during the 1982-83 season. Hofstra swept the season series a year ago, winning by 15 at home and earning a three-point victory at Towson as sophomore Jalen Ray drained a three-pointer at the buzzer for the 76-73 win. The Pride has won six of the last eight meetings in the series. The Hofstra/Towson series, which began with an 86-71 Pride victory, is the Pride's third-most common series in program history. The 68 all-time meetings ranks only behind Delaware (89) and Drexel (88).
