Madison Georgiana and sophomore
Djuna Slort each recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Hofstra Pride to a 3-0 Colonial Athletic Association victory over the Towson Tigers in the Pride's home finale and on Senior Day at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium Sunday afternoon.
Hofstra, which snapped a two-game losing skid, improves to 7-10 overall and 1-4 in the CAA. Towson, which dropped its second consecutive decision, falls to 3-14 on the year and 0-4 in conference action.
Playing in a steady downpour, the first quarter was scoreless as the Tigers posted the only two shots in the period. But the Pride were able to dominate the second quarter and scored just 1:48 into the period off a penalty corner with Slort notching her fifth goal of the year on a low bullet. Seniors
Madison Georgiana and
Madison Warfel picked up the assists on the goal. Hofstra outshot Towson, 8-0 in the period and had seven penalty corners but could only put one in the goal.
Hofstra freshman
Sydney LeGuillow tallied her second goal of the year with 2:33 to play in the third quarter, tipping in a pass from Warfel for a 2-0 lead. Just 4:46 into the fourth quarter, Georgiana tallied her first goal of the year and fourth of her career off a penalty corner as Georgiana inserted the ball to Slort who sent it right back to the senior near the goal for the tally.

Merlijn van der Vegt needed to make only one save for her second shutout of the season.
The Pride close out the regular season next Sunday, November 3 when Hofstra travels to Boston to face the Huskies of Northeastern at 1 p.m.
Notes
- Hofstra has now defeated Towson eight consecutive times and leads the all-time series, 29-11.
- There was a 38-minute lightning delay at the 11:19 mark of the third quarter.

Madison Warfel added two assists Sunday to boost her career-high numbers to seven goals and eight assists for 22 points.
