Dedham, MA – Pride sophomore
Cami Larsson scored her second goal of the game just 2:12 into overtime to give Hofstra a 4-3 Colonial Athletic Association victory over the Northeastern Huskies at Dedham Field Sunday afternoon.
Hofstra ends the season on a two-game winning streak to finish with an 8-10 overall record and a 2-4 slate in the CAA. It is the Pride's most wins in a season since 2016 when Hofstra was 9-10. Northeastern, who is headed for next Friday's CAA Championship tournament semifinals as the third-seed, is 10-7 overall and 3-3 in the CAA.
After a scoreless first quarter, Northeastern took a 1-0 lead just 1:30 into the second period on a goal by Alli Meehan. But the Pride tied the game less than 90 seconds later as freshman
Mercedes Currie tallied her second goal of the year off a deflection of a long pass from Larsson. The Huskies took a 2-1 lead late in the third quarter when Lauren Rowe tallied an unassisted goal with 1:10 to play in the period.
The Pride came alive in the fourth quarter as senior
Madison Warfel gathered a rebound in the middle of the circle and beat Huskies goalie Julia Gluyas (3 saves) just 4:14 into the period. It was Warfel's eighth goal of the year and tied the game at 2-2.
Hofstra took the lead for the first time with 5:58 to play in regulation as Larsson and sophomore
Djuna Slort played give-and-go after a penalty corner with Larsson notching her 10
th goal of the year and a 3-2 advantage. But just 80 seconds later the Huskies tied it at 3-3 on Rowe's second of the contest and sending the game into overtime.
On the Hofstra game-winner, junior
Frankie O'Brien inserted the ball from the penalty corner with Warfel stopping the ball. Instead of playing give-and-go with Slort, Larsson ripped a low bullet into the left side of the goal for the win. It is Larsson's fourth game-winning goal of the year.

- Larsson finished the year with a team-high 11 goals and tied for the team-high with 25 points.
- Warfel led the team with nine assists and tied Larsson for points with 25.
