Maddie Brown had a lead in both sets, but fell to Columbia's Melissa Sakar in the second round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regional at Army West Point. Set scores were 6-4, 6-4. Sakar was seeded in the 17-32 range.
Brown led Sakar, 4-2, in the first set and was up a break before dropping the set. She also led in the second set, 4-3, before Sakar won the final three games to take the match.
The ITA Northeast Regional was the last competition of the fall season for the Hofstra women's tennis team. The squad returns to action January 31, 2020 against UNCW.
