New Haven, CT – Hofstra freshman
Cami Larsson gave the Pride an early lead but the Bulldogs tallied three unanswered goals in the final 35:35 as Yale defeated Hofstra, 3-1 in a non-conference contest at Johnson Field Friday evening. The Bulldogs improved to 2-0 on the season while the Pride dropped their fourth consecutive game to fall to 1-4 on the year.
The Pride took a 1-0 lead on Larsson's second goal of the season at the 22:54 mark. But the Bulldogs tied the game with just 35 seconds remaining in the first half on a goal by Bridget Condie. Hofstra was outshot by Yale, 11-6 but took four penalty corners to the Bulldogs three.
Yale broke the tie midway through the second half as Imogen Davies scored off a penalty corner. Davies added an insurance goal with 8:59 remaining in the period.

Madison Warfel each took three shots for the Pride, who were outshot 16-8 in the contest. Freshman goalie
Betty Bosma recorded five saves in the Hofstra goal. Yale goalie Sydney Terroso made three saves to record her second victory of the season.
Hofstra returns to action on Sunday, September 9 when the Pride host the Bulldogs of Bryant at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium. Game time for the Pride home opener is 2 p.m.

- Hofstra is now 9-18 all-time in the series against Yale.

Betty Bosma entered the week ranked first in the CAA and second in the nation in saves per game (11.25). She now has 50 saves in five games this season.
- Larsson leads the team in goals with two, points (4) and shots (8) this year.
- Hofstra will be meeting the Bryant Bulldogs for just the second time in program history. The two teams met in 2009 in Hempstead with the Pride winning, 3-2.
